Fresher Than Fresh
What It is: A package design of a top selling bubble gum brand named Wrigley's.
Function: It is a small, highly portable, package of gum that you can take anywhere. Always giving you the option of fresh breath.
Design & typography: The design of the package creates a image telling the consumer that this gum will in fact make your breath fresher. The cold snowflakes and the mountain tops send that message of just how fresh your mouth could be by just tearing off the package and chewing up one of those pieces. It even tells how fresh the gum actually is, using fresh in the label itself. Also, uses a nice type with sharp edges and a shadowed lining, making the name pop.
Quality: Uses detail to explain what is contained in the packaging. Noted- Small hints of the snowflakes and mountain peaks.
What Attracted you to the piece: I just wanted the freshest breath I could possibly get and by looking at different gum packages i decided that my best chance would be with the winter freshness of Wrigley's.

Hunter
WHAT IT IS: Advertisement that I found from my hometown Robinson.
FUNCTION: To attract people to the Budweiser product, by using a deer and trying to connect with a certain group of people.
WHERE I SAW IT: I actually picked it up from a liquor store there, the manager sold it to me for five bucks.
DESIGN & TYPOGRAPHY: Design is simple, it uses to connections with hunting, sights down a scope and a nice whitetail deer. Budweiser used it original symbol with the kings hat and elegant font.
QUALITY: I loved the quality of this piece, It was done with a screen press. Three layers for the orange, white, and black.
ATTRACTIONS: Well I am a hunter so of course this advertisement was going to appeal to me. There isn't much of anything that is better than liquor and firearms right?

The Bear
This is a Vancouver Grizzlies hat, a vintage hat that has been brought back due to New Era's snap-back/throwback hat line. The design is a logo that was used for the team when they were in Vancouver, now the grizzlies are in Memphis, but that doesn't matter. I absolutely favor this design due to the use of color. There is actually a bit of type used in it as well. Stitched in on the back, is the text "Vancouver" which serves no purpose to the basic design, but gives the hat a second focus point. The logo consists of the letter G for grizzlies, with a bear rising over the letter, swiping its paw across the surface. Like I said, simple but very colorful.

Simple Straws
Sour punch straws, my favorite candy snack there is! I bought these at a gas station, they are pretty much in every convenient store. The function of this packaging is to draw the consumer in right? well what better way to do that than make the type bold with lightning bolts and cute little circle characters puckering their faces. I mean that's just a warning right now telling you that if you are looking for a sour treat, these are what you need. It is a pretty basic design, not a lot of detail but why do you need detail when the product is made for kids. Overall, I really agree with the design of the package, however I believe it is very simple. But, simple is not always a bad thing. The design follows the contents the design is advertising and that's all that matters.

Trippy Trippy
What it is: A piece of art that covers a magazine called CMYK, which is great to read for ideas, information, and tips in graphic design. Its Function: Is to draw the attention of a reader that might pick up the magazine. Where I saw it: Actually I went to Barnes and Noble to purchase HOW magazine, another art design mag, and ended up buying this along with it. Design and Typography: The actual design of the cover page would be a psychedelic era style, you can tell by the curvy type and forms. Also the colors hint to the era as well, bright, eye popping, smooth colors. Quality: Well the quality is amazing, I mean, how could it not be and be on a cover of a magazine. I love the colors along with the crazy design, just like any other psychedelic piece. Each curve serves its purpose by drawing your eye to the center, the number 51, which is the issue number. The idea of incorporating the issue number to the center of the art itself was very interesting. Overall I love this piece of art, and please read the CMYK magazine, you wont be disappointed.
